James Zeigler
Audiologist / Au.D.
Meet James Zeigler
James has been in the field of Audiology for over 40 years. He attended the Indiana University of PA, Penn State, and received his doctorate of Audiology from Bloomsburg University.
James was interested in language and development, and started out as a speech and hearing major. Learning about how the ear and the sense of hearing does (and doesn’t) work and the impact hearing has on language development made him interested in audiology. He liked the combination of acoustics, anatomy, development, and the diagnostic process to pinp0int and help minimize the impact of hearing loss.
James loves the constant change, development and application of new technology to help detect hearing and listening deficits in patients of all ages, along with the application of more advanced hearing aid and cochlear implant technology to allow language development in children and keep older adults engaged and connected with their family.
The Family Hearing Care practice works with patients of all ages and states of hearing through their lifespan. They see newborns and infants for early detection of hearing loss, along with teens and young adults focusing on protection from excessive noise, to older adults where they focus on managing hearing loss to maintain connection with solutions ranging from OTC devices to cochlear implants. They value the community connections they make providing hearing screening for HeadStart programs, participation in health fairs, and presentations to community groups.
