Meet Craig Chorney
Mr. Chorney has been in the hearing health care field for over 42 years. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Speech/Communication Sciences from SUNY Brockport in 1975, and his Master’s Degree in Audiology from Penn State University in 1980. He received his Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 1981, and is a current member of that organization.
Mr. Chorney became an audiologist because he enjoys combining technology and counseling skills to help others hear better and get more out of life. His career experience includes 10 years as audiologist at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, PA; three years as Audiology Clinic Coordinator for the Gebbie Hearing Clinic at Syracuse University; twenty years as an audiologist for Central New York Developmental Disabilities Service Office and part-time employment in private hearing aid practices.
Mr. Chorney joined Beltone part-time in 2012, and in 2013 retired from state employment to work full time for Beltone. Drawing from his experience with varied individuals and professional settings, he is devoted to making a difference in his patients’ lives.
Being a native of western Pennsylvania, Mr. Chorney is an avid sports fan. His favorite teams for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates, as well as Penn State.
If you ask Mr. Chorney’s patients what they appreciate about him, they’ll tell you that he knows how to clearly and simply explain their hearing loss to them and their families. He spends time getting to know them, so that he can make the best hearing aid technology recommendations to meet their communication needs and lifestyles.
